Therapy for Anxiety

Do you feel like your anxiety is holding you back from embodying your best self and living life to your fullest potential?

You’ve been suffering in silence, trying to navigate your mental health alone. Anxiety has left you rooted in place, unable to take the next step in your life. You want to take back control of your life and regain the confidence to be your authentic self, but you need support and love.

You don’t have to continue to live in this cycle of anxiety, fear, and downward mental spirals.

Even though it may feel like it, anxiety is not the enemy. Anxiety will always be a part of life, but it’s possible for you to reach a place of acceptance and freedom where it doesn’t affect the decisions you make and get in the way of you being fully present and enjoying your life. Our emotions are central to our existence as humans and by developing a healthy relationship with your wide array of emotions, you will begin to improve the quality of your relationship with yourself and others.

In therapy, you are no longer having to navigate your anxiety by yourself. With support and guidance, you will reclaim control over your emotions, enhance your self-esteem, and improve your ability to cope in stressful situations. Getting through your day with peace of mind and presence within yourself and your relationships is possible and in reach.

Together, we’ll focus on:

  • Understanding the root cause of your anxiety

  • Improving your self-compassion, self-esteem, and self-talk

  • Feeling confident in your ability to self-regulate and self-soothe

  • Regaining a sense of control in your life and make decisions that are in line with your values and the life you dream of creating

  • Learning effective coping strategies for managing your anxiety and facing life challenges

HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER

1

  • During this 15-minute call, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and how I can best support you on your journey. We will also utilize this time to answer any questions you may have.

2

  • During our first session, I’ll get to know you by asking questions and listening to you share about your current challenges. We’ll discuss your goals, conceptualize what’s going on, and identify what will be the most helpful path forward for you. Based on your goals, we will create an individualized treatment plan which will include your estimated length of treatment and frequency of sessions.

3

  • During our first month, we’ll spend an hour each week diving deeper into what has brought you to therapy by bringing awareness to the root cause of what is troubling you, while also actively working towards helping you experience relief from your anxiety and discomfort. As treatment continues, we’ll continue to meet on a consistent basis and continue addressing the root cause of your troubles. By addressing both the symptoms and the root of the symptoms, you will experience profound and long-term change

FAQs

  • It’s normal to experience anxiety on occasion. However, if you feel that your anxiety causes you to go down mental spirals and you often feel like you are living in your head, overthinking everything, and drained, then it may be time to seek support.

  • Experiencing worry is a part of being human, but when these thoughts or emotions start to impact your relationships and daily life, it may be time to seek support. Anxiety can manifest in different ways, for example:

    • Difficulty concentrating because your mind is focused on the present worry

    • Disrupted sleep schedule

    • Challenges with maintaining or building relationships

    • Physical symptoms, such as rapid breathing, increased heart rate, sweating, and/or feeling tired

  • To me, our therapeutic relationship is the most important part of our work together. I show up in sessions with you committed to our work and our relationship. We’ll take a closer look at the thoughts and narratives you’re experiencing around situations and yourself, and begin to challenge and restructure those thoughts and narratives as we create healthier patterns. We’ll look at particular physiologies and incorporate somatic and breath work. With support, you will learn to create psychological flexibility and tolerance to uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.
